My trip to Denver Part 3

Now this is where things get interesting. There are a lot of people I am meeting so I have to change the names just to keep them all sorted out.

I am at This Is It Lounge,Walking in, I ask for a PBR, the bartender asks bottle, mug, or mason jar. I'm not really in the mood to ask so I tell her to surprise me. I was surprised with the mason jar. It's big, I like it.

Getting about the time that everyone should be showing up. I give a call to Link (not his real or hash name) I ask where he is and he said he's right outside. I am speaking to a person I've only emailed once on the internet but I have pretty good idea of his personality. I call him a dick and tell him I am a couple mason jars away from being drunk.

When I say everyone came in at the same time, they literally did, I asked 'Link' if they all rode one bus over together. He said it was almost true. There is a blur of people I met, some even knew I drove seventeen hundred miles to be there to hang out with them.

I am talking with 'Kevin' when walks in 'Sara' (I really hope this isn't her real name). I haven't seen Sara since July 2008, where I first met her, and she dislocated my shoulder. As being a victim of a dislocated shoulder several times before I was able to put it back in myself and move on. The dialogue between the two of us was quite funny.

Me, "You dislocated my shoulder two years ago at ______"

Sara, "Really?"

Me, "Yeah

Sara, "Why is this just coming up now? You want me to fuck you?"

Me, "No."

Sara, "Blowjob?"

Me, "Nope."

Things are fuzzy, so I maybe leaving out details. After this we go on trail. I spend most of the trail as DFL with Link. Were swapping stories as we have the same friends. Trail was quite uneventful.

We end up at another bar. I am really starting to notice a pattern here. Things were fuzzy but I was sobering up. There was food but I didn't have much interest in it. People were eating, and I was told there would be as much PBR as we wanted. I was in love.

People finished eating and then we had circle. Which is tough to explain but for 99% of circle I was in the middle drinking. Why I was being picked on I had no idea, it could be because I was drunk and loud.

After circle we started with Karaoke. I did not sing, but I did try to convince a few to do a Wu-Tang song. It didn't work out. But now we get into supposedly what happened. I was accused by some of being flirty with everyone, which I countered with I was being friendly, and I was being friendly with everyone. Ask the big biker dude at the bar.

Then there was another, Sara, who accused me of being very friendly with her. Now I am pretty good at not overstepping my bounds. And when I started to sober up, I was getting bored. But according to her she said it seemed as if I was there on a mission. I still deny this since I kept looking at my phone to see if my ex had called or texted me.

During this I step outside, for some weird reason I wanted to piss and change outside. So I go into a dark alley, pee and go back I run into Link. I said, we should call Germany. The person not the country. So Link dials him up, its 2 am in Colorado Springs, its 4 am on a Friday in North Carolina. Link is trying to talk and I am screaming in the background. I have no idea what I said. Probably calling him a loser for not being awake when we call. While I am screaming in the background I am also changing right in front of the bar.

Finally things are winding down, meaning its 2 am and they're telling us to get the fuck out. Sara asks me if I have a place to crash, I say no. She tells me I can crash at Grape's house. We go to find my Jeep. There are three other people in the car, myself, Sara, and Mary were all sober or sober enough. The one drunk in the car is the only local.

We end up using my phone to navigate to my Jeep. And head back to Grape's house. I grab my pillow and blanket. I end up for another couple hours watching TV. Also the couch I was crashing on wasn't long enough for me so every hour or so I would go to the floor and then back to the couch.

I slept for a few hours, more than I had slept in the past few days. After a while I was woken up. No hangover, I just wanted to sleep more. I grab a shower and we head to breakfast.

Breakfast was uneventful, the people I were following to the camp site needed to go to Wal-Mart first. I followed them over. Not much happened except for one thing that was said when we were leaving the store.

Mary said, "TJ, you climb mountains right?"

"Yes."

"Well if you play your cards right you may climb one of us this weekend."

Shocking would be an understatement.

After leaving the store, we went on a tour of Colorado Springs because the local had no idea where they were going. We arrive at the camp site, I set up my tent, help others set theirs up, I was only going to be there one night so I didn't have much to set up.

I quickly found the kegs of beer, even helped unload them. Then I saw a keg of Dos Equis, quite a shock to see at a camp out that was only $20. I found the nearest tap and plugged it in. But I kept hearing a sound like the tap was broken. Well it was a tap with four hoses coming out. One of the hoses was broken and beer was pouring out and then it quickly found its way to my mouth. We ended up plugging the leak.

At this point things get fuzzy again and I really only recall a few events in eight hours. The first being the bouncy castle being put up, I entered it several times and it was fun. The next being I was talking to Grape. She was sitting in her chair and the chair had a little foot rest on the end. I leaned on it and broke it. So I promised to buy her another chair and let her prop her feet up on my shoulders.

After those events it got dark. Someone said the bouncy castle was empty. It wasn't totally empty and we disturbed what fun they were having. We bounce around for a minute and I leave. Coming out of the bouncy castle someone has thrown their panties on top of my sandals. So I put them on over my clothes and walk back to the barn where everyone is. Of course everyone wants to know who they belong to, I am honest and say I have no idea but I found them on my sandals. Once I was grossing people out with them I took them off and threw them in a direction of people. that was the last I saw of them or heard about it.

The final thing I remember, I was heading to bed. I was grabbing a book and my lantern and heading to my one person tent. This thing is small. It plays a factor. So I am throwing things into my tent and Sara somehow sees me getting ready for bed. I was feeling a little hammered at the time. I know my skills for remembering conversations is lacking. I think I was making jokes about her shirt, she had a long sleeve shirt that said, "How many licks does it take?" And had the owl from the commercials on there.

I figured it was harmless jokes. I am leaning on my Jeep right now and she says something. I have no idea what, and so I say, "What?" I am being kissed on the lips. I am quickly overridden with guilt because I have an idea of where this is leading. I tell her I am about to go to bed and she says I will go with you and crawls into my tent before I do. I crawl in after her and we lay in there and talk for about ten minutes.

I have an idea, I know of a tent that is empty and not being used. I tell her I have my air mattress and we can crash in there. We head in there and crash out. We talked for a while but that was all that happened. I wish I could brag and say more happened but it didn't and I really didn't want anything to.

Where we were at the nights were nice and cool but as soon as the sun came up it was blistering hot. Soon as the sun hit the tent it was quite warm. I kind of roll around stretching. My clothes are still on as were hers. I start to throw on my shorts, I was sleeping in my boxers, when I get asked, "Who is Erica?"

Before I could think of what she had just asked, "I know she's your ex, it happened three weeks ago, and it was very public." The chick has resources. I told her that it was pretty much it and sorry if I thought she was Erica.

After this I head back to Denver and I started work. I know its anti-climatic but that's all that happened. Ever since I have started working I haven't done much of anything else.
